Lausanne at a Glance:
- Founded in 1926 in midtown Memphis as a nonsectarian school for girls
- Lausanne's graduating class has been coed since 1982, but boys attended Lower School classes as early as the 1930s.
- As of 2007-2008, 770 students in Pre-Kindergarten through twelfth grades
- During the 2007-2008 school, Lausanne Collegiate School students hailed from 42 countries and spoke 21 languages besides English.
- The 2007-2008 varsity girls basketball team won the Division IIA state championship.
- Lausanne's Laptop Institute , now in its eighth year, is the world's largest gathering of laptop educators, attracting 500 teachers and administrators from schools in 30+ states and several dozen countries.
- Lausanne is the first school in the region to be accredited by the AdvancED organization, an international accreditation agency.

Lausanne’s students take an active role in their learning. From numerous AP offerings, to eighth grade algebra and enrichment activities for all students, our curriculum focuses on each child’s potential.
The MidSouth’s first laptop school, Lausanne fosters anywhere, anytime learning. Fifth through twelfth graders use their laptops on the shore of Blue Heron Pond or sitting in the breezeway as they collaborate with students across the world.
Our students come from across the world and enrich each classroom with their experiences, cultures and opinions.

Lausanne’s top athletes can also be academic superstars and award-winning artists. Our seniors go off to colleges across the world and often choose international careers, going places and accomplishing tasks that many others would not dare.
