Gene Ford Music

We encourage and strive to develop strong communication between parent/instructor to ensure the student's healthy progression with the instrument. Our roster students are encouraged to participate in two showcases per year. These showcases demonstrate the progress that the student has made, provide an opportunity to hone the students' performance skills, and may give the students experience performing in a group.
We offer individual music lessons in Guitar, Bass, Drums, Voice, Piano/Keyboard, Banjo & Mandolin Lessons. We also have Songwriting or Digital Recording Individual Lessons. Private lesson students are eligible to participate in two showcases per year to demonstrate progress & develop performance skills.
Each of our instructors has demonstrated both an exceptional heart for teaching and success as a performer. This rare blend brings real-world experience into each lesson.
Gene Ford is a graduate of Towson State University in guitar performance. He studied under Ray Chester, chair of guitar at the Peabody Institute. Gene took guitar pedagogy from Aaron Shearer of Peabody. Over 30 years of teaching and performance. Gene is a Nashville session player, songwriter and has toured with many artists. Gene's students love his sense of humor and his ability to mix the enjoyment of music with the study of music theory. Though many students are brought to Gene by producers, recording labels, and other music industry professionals, he considers every student equal in importance, with the capacity to enjoy music at every level of participation.
Showcases. Twice a year, once in the late fall and once in the spring, we have a showcase for all of our roster students. This showcase gives students the opportunity to demonstrate their progress. The showcase also gives valuable performance experience and if the student chooses, the experience of playing in a group.
Summer Camps. Our camps were so popular that several of them will be expanded and offered again. Through student input and feedback, we think we are going to hit the ball out of the park with this year’s offerings. The camps are Monday - Friday, 9am to Noon. Students must be picked up at 12 noon each day.
Maintain contact with the front desk about any missed lessons. Good communication and respect for the instructor and his/her time is essential in making a commitment to a lesson time. Be clear about cancellations in order to maintain your place on the instructor’s roster.
